Bio – Benjamin Gulder, RPT

 ~ began his musical studies in his early teens, and has had the privilege of playing in symphony orchestras, various chamber music groups, and a folk duo. He joined the Soo Theatre Arts Resource Studios String Faculty in 2010, where he began offering violin lessons with the Suzuki Method. In 2019 he moved to South Carolina to marry the love of his life, and they now reside in Aiken’s beautiful south side. 

His interest in technical piano work began in his early adulthood when he took a number of correspondence courses and learned the fundamentals of piano tuning. He worked diligently to develop the skills learned in those courses before offering tuning services to the general public.

In 2023 he joined the Piano Technician’s Guild as an associate member, and received mentorship from a number of technicians including Nathan Mills, RPT, and Josh Eyler, RPT. He continues to hone and improve his skills on a daily basis, and takes every opportunity to educate himself on new subjects of piano technology to be able to expand his services.

In March 2026 he began his journey towards becoming a Registered Piano Technician by passing the Guild’s written exam. In April he recieved a leadership scholarship from the PTG Foundation and passed his tuning exam. He then received another scholarship from the PTG Foundation to attend the National PTG Convention, at which, he completed his Technical exam and concluded his studies to become a Registered Piano Technician. 

He now continues to learn and study, and offers first class service to South Carolina and Northern Michigan.
